Approx 8:15pm on the Dome Stage 2015

SLYDE into a sparkling summer with sequin shirts and gold flared trousers and dance to the chart sounds that marked the start of one of the most flamboyant decades in British pop history.

Join us to celebrate the glitz and glam of the 70’s Glamrock era. Dust off those old platform boots and go crazy with lipstick and mascara, recreating the authentic atmosphere of shows featuring legends such as Sweet, T Rex, David Bowie, Jeff Beck, Wizzard, Norman Greenbuam. Steppenwolf, The Osmonds, Mud and many more.

NOBBY BOULDER has been touring with his band Slyde for the past 18 years and he has shared the stage with the original “Slade”. Slade’s drummer, Don Powell on hearing his voice said “There is only one other man who sounds like that”, referring to his friend and former bandmate, the legendary Noddy Holder.
Slyde have also supported artists such as …. The late Alvin Stardust, The Rubettes, Les McKeown’s Bay City Rollers,Gino Washington, Smokie, Boney M, John Coughlan’s Quo and Saxon.

Slyde are the No1 tribute to Slade in the UK and Europe, but their stage show is also an authentic tribute to other pop & rock artists from 1970 to 1979.

During the mid-1970’s rock musicians began to compete with each other, not just with sound alone, but mainly by developing more and more eccentric ways of capturing the attention of their audiences.

Blue denim and black leather were replaced by glitter, sequins, platform boots, make-up and bright coloured clothes.

Slyde pay homage to the bands of that era and include many classic hit songs in their repertoire. Songs such as: Crazy Horses (The Osmonds) Fox on the Run & Blockbuster (Sweet) Get it on & 20th Century Boy (T Rex) I love Rock n Roll (Joan Jett) Spirit in the Sky (Norman Greenbuam) See my baby jive (Wizzard) Born to be wild (Steppenwolf) Rebel Rebel (David Bowie) Hi Ho silver lining (Jeff Beck) Schools Out (Alice Cooper) and a host of Slade classics (Cum on feel the noize, Mamma we’re all crazee now, Cuz I love you, Goodbye to Jane and the ever popular festive hit “Merry Christmas Everybody” )

Other festive hits include: I wish it could be Christmas Every day, Lonely this Christmas and Santa Claus is coming to town. Plus, their very own Christmas song “I can’t wait for Christmas”

Slyde will take you back 4 decades to a time when British Glam Rock was setting the standard worldwide for genuine goodtime party rock 'n roll. The show is a glitter strewn journey of seventies anthems to stomp a sparkling platform boot to. There is a plethora of rump shaking glam classics and bell bottomed gems spilling from the brim of Nobby’s mirror festooned top hat!

And, the band like nothing more than to see their audiences dressed for the occasion!! Get yourself down to the nearest fancy dress store and slip back to the days when boys and girls raided each other wardrobes.

NOBBY BOULDER is one of only a few rock vocalists in the UK who have the power and vocal range to sustain a performance of almost two hours of 70’s rock classics.

DAVE THRILL dresses to impress and reproduces the unmistakable guitar riffs, which set Slade and other Glam rockers apart from many UK artistes of that era. He wields his “Super Yob” guitar, with the utmost confidence and skill, safe in the knowledge that the crowd will be stomping their feet from the opening bars to the final song.

JAMMY LEE is Slyde’s bassist and an extremely competent and dedicated musician, providing a groove, that sets the foundation stone for a couple of hours of rockin’ seventies party-sounds.

DOZY POWELL is an accomplished drummer, with many years’ experience. Slyde’s impressive set list relies on a good solid tempo to ensure that the crowd will stay on their feet Dozy is never happier than when he sees audiences, clapping their hands and dancing to the beat!
